Enneagram Coaching
Do You Feel Lost Or Unsatisfied In Certain Areas Of Your Life?
Are you frustrated that you aren’t where you want to be yet? You may want to spend more time on the things that matter to you on a deep, spiritual level, but you’re too scared to get started. Or maybe you feel like everything is always moving too slowly, leaving you treading water and stuck in place. You might scroll through social media or binge-watch Netflix because it’s a lot more enjoyable than dealing with the day’s stress. But through it all, you worry you’ll never feel the way you want or experience life the way you want to.
Do you second-guess every choice you make? You know you’ve been successful, but you can’t shake feelings of fear, anger, or self-doubt that are holding you back. Or you might question everything other people say and do, making it hard to be truly open and honest in your relationships. You may know that you have blind spots or that you self-sabotage at times, and it’s beginning to affect your confidence, your relationships, and other aspects of your life. And while you’re capable of solving the challenges that are holding you back, it seems like something is always getting in the way.
On the other hand, you may not know why you feel so frustrated or dissatisfied; just that you aren’t as happy as you could be. And without a clear problem you can address, you may blame yourself or believe that there is something flawed about who you are. Perhaps you met with a counselor, coach, or an intuitive in the past, but you still feel stuck in certain areas of your life.
Do you wish you could understand yourself and others better so you could go through daily life with greater hope and confidence? Enneagram coaching can integrate other strategies you have tried to create a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
Are You Ready To Supercharge Your Personal Growth?
Many of the people in our lives only know us by our most outspoken personality trait. They tend to see us in certain settings—at work or a child’s soccer game, for example—and so we’re labeled as angry or happy or bubbly or kind. And if we show any other emotions, people react with shock or a snide comment, like “What happened to the happy person we used to know?” And while these acquaintances aren’t trying to put you in a box, their expectations can make it harder to open up about how you’re really feeling, especially if you are traditionally a people-pleaser. And over time, you can end up feeling like no one really knows you or understands your needs.
To try and understand who you really are—and all the emotions you experience—you may have turned to personality tests like Myers Briggs or the Color Personality Test (red, green, yellow, blue). Maybe you have taken the Jungian Archetype quiz or, running out of options, used one of the Facebook tools in your feed to try and figure yourself out. And while these assessments can be informative, they often fail to account for all the little things that make you an individual. And without a professional to help interpret your type, it’s all too easy to focus on just one result indicating your main enneagram type, which can actually end up leaving you feeling more stuck than ever because there is so much to learn, understand, and integrate.
The enneagram test is much more than just a personality typing tool. The enneagram takes into account all aspects of who you are, so you can get to know yourself at a deeper level and understand the essence that makes you so uniquely you. By helping you explore deep personal and spiritual questions—like “How do I learn?” and “Why am I here?”—enneagram coaching can help you define your needs and better understand yourself as a whole person.
Enneagram Coaching Can Help You Nurture Greater Self-Awareness And Healthy Relationships
The ways you think about yourself and the world around you are important parts of who you are, and they can affect how you feel from day to day. At its core, enneagram coaching is about helping you gain greater awareness about who you really are, as well as integrating your three areas of intelligence: head, heart, gut. The goal isn’t to change who you are or “fix” you, but to give you the understanding and tools you need to build a better relationship with yourself, nurture personal growth, and live a life that is more aligned with your deeply held values.
During the first few sessions, we’ll begin to develop a clear picture of your enneagram type and your goals for coaching. We’ll start by talking about different everyday scenarios—how you react in times of stress compared to when you’re relaxed, for example—so I can get a better understanding of how you function from day to day. We’ll also explore your life experiences and create a timeline of events to see how your past is influencing how you go through life now. Maybe you moved or changed schools a lot when you were growing up, and you learned it was easier to avoid close relationships since they were destined to end. By asking questions and exploring past events in a safe environment and listening with compassion and acceptance, you can learn more about yourself and the things that are holding you back without fear of judgment or criticism.
If you already know your enneagram type, we’ll use the first few sessions to discuss your goals and what you want to gain from coaching. I may also ask how you understand your type/subtype. It’s important that you and I are on the same page from the start to ensure every session is tailored to you and all the things that make you unique. Because before you can nurture the greatest personal growth, you have to understand yourself: your strengths, your needs, and the roadblocks in your way.
In the following sessions, I’ll teach you techniques and skills attuned to your specific needs and goals. My goal is to help you build a healthy relationship with the different parts of yourself (your inner child, the part of you that gets stressed, and the part of you that gets angry, for example.). By giving these different parts a voice, you can better understand the role they play in your life: how they benefit you and how they can get you in trouble sometimes.
I draw from a range of approaches during our work together, including Gestalt-oriented body work and energy work. In addition to understanding your enneagram type and subtype, we’ll explore the body-positions you adopt in different situations and how they are affecting your thoughts and emotions. For example, you may become physically closed off—crossed arms, tense shoulders, etc.—in times of stress. When you shift positions, it sends different chemicals to your brain which can affect how you think and feel. And as you gain greater awareness about how your body and mind interact, you can recognize stress before it becomes overwhelming and take steps to find relief faster.
While it’s important to understand your physical response to stress, frustration and fear, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. As an energy worker and an intuitive, I may also draw from guided imagery and visualization techniques to help you learn how to release energy in a calm, healthy way while also growing out of and expanding your comfort zone. And throughout our work together, we’ll practice concrete tools—including breathing exercises—you can use to stay grounded in your daily life.
In addition to exploring physical and emotional needs, many of my clients are looking for spiritual guidance and support. As an enneagram coach and an intuitive, I can help you work through deep, personal questions you may have about love, relationships, abundance and your soul’s calling in this lifetime.
Whether this is the first time you’ve considered enneagram coaching or you need help understanding prior enneagram work and integrating the things you learned in your life, I’m here to meet you at whatever level feels comfortable to you.
You may have questions about meeting with an enneagram coach…
This sounds too overwhelming.
The enneagram is very nuanced and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed at first. In many cases, the enneagram work is actually happening behind the scenes: it’s guiding our work during sessions and providing a wide array of benefits while reducing feelings of overwhelm so you can wake up every day with greater hope and confidence.
I’m not sure I can afford it?
I get it. Our work together may seem like an unexpected or unnecessary expense and it can be hard to commit to your personal care and growth, especially if other attempts have failed to deliver the meaningful, lasting benefits you wanted. But consider the time and money you have spent on temporary solutions that only put a Band-Aid on the issue. My enneagram coaching sessions will provide you with the skills and awareness you need for deeply personal growth and lasting change.
I’m in the middle of a major transition—I’ll do this later.
You are the only one who gets to decide when it’s the right time to reach out for help. But if you keep finding yourself stuck in the same patterns, enneagram coaching can give you the self-care and tools you need to work through roadblocks faster and with less stress, fear, and frustration.
